"The world is a beautiful place to live and it's worth fighting for"
ISDA was born for the sea and for the seas lives, to make known and loved by a growing number of people.
Not only through courses but also with social activities, events, games, contests and special projects.
Here are the areas where the projects are organized or sponsored by ISDA.
The Green Wave projects are aimed at environmental protection. The entire environment, consisting of sea, earth, air, animals, and humans are part of one big and beautiful system of equlibrium: Life.
The flagship of the environmental protection projects is called Take the Tank and Sweep. The travelling event involves cleaning waters and beaches and has many volunteers. It is in its fourth year of life.
ISDA was born in the Mediterranean sea and from this point has been involved in a renewal of the culture of history, which manifests itself in a very strong underwater artistic and archaeological heritage.
Our Underwater Archeology courses are specially designed and thorough and ISDA is constantly involved in excavations and projects to preserve, promote and make archaeological tours throughout Italy known.
The sea belongs to everyone and everyone needs to know and experience its wonders. This is the foundation upon which the philosophy of ISDA is based.
And it is with this in mind that projects and courses have been carried out, including:
Many of the most fascinating and exotic diving destinations are in very poor countries, where diving can be an important tourist resource. ISDA helps native boys and girls of developing countries to build up a profession in the business of diving, sponsoring scholarships for them to become guides and instructors, and continuing to help them in their profession.
The underwater world is for anyone who knows how to appreciate it. With the Parasub course, the ISDA instructor is qualified to teach scuba diving to the blind and people with disabilities. ISDA urges and also sponsors activities and events aimed at these groups of divers.
